AFSCME NJ — It's Time to Go Get Organized!
Our union is under attack. Nationwide, billionaire-backed extremists are pushing massive cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, and other vital public services, programs that New Jersey families, seniors, and public servants rely on every single day. Their goal? To fund huge tax giveaways to the ultra-rich and undermine the strength of organized labor with initiatives like Project 2025
Why this matters for AFSCME NJ
- Medicaid and Medicare cuts would devastate our local communities, reducing health access for seniors, children, and disabled New Jerseyans and will impact our members jobs and employment.
- State and local budget reductions weaken contract leverage, putting our job security, staffing, and benefits at grave risk.
These budget slashes are also attacks on our ability to organize, to bargain, and even to exist as a union .
