AFSCME New Jersey Council 63 Statement on Gov. Sherrill’s Budget Address

Governor Sherrill’s Fiscal Year 2027 budget proposal demonstrates her administration’s commitment to funding the public services that the people of New Jersey rely on. The investments the Governor proposed in Medicaid, health care, education, social services, and other critical programs will help New Jerseyans offset the worst effects of looming federal budget cuts. AFSCME members are not only public servants who provide vital services in their communities, they are taxpayers as well. Governor Sherrill’s budget proposal helps address their affordability concerns as they work to raise their families in New Jersey.

We also thank Governor Sherrill for recognizing the valuable contributions that union members make every day to improve the quality of life for the people of New Jersey. AFSCME New Jersey Council 63 supports Governor Sherrill’s budget proposal and looks forward to working with her and the State Legislature to help pass it.
